What is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a 19th century work of French literature by Jules Verne.  Much of the classic novel focuses on fine dining, as the characters explore the undersea world, exotic locales, and partake of the unique food they offer.

The legendary literary work develops an ever complex Captain Nemo.  In a glorious critique of civilization, the Captain, free of society and its rules, offers his prisoners world-class hospitality and an otherworldly tourism experience. But it comes on his terms, not theirs.

It is this aspect of Verne's work that inspires the tasting menu

at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Does the meal include drink service?

Yes.

Just as in the book, elaborate cocktails are paired to the dishes.

If I don't drink alcohol can I eat here?

Yes.

Many of the dishes served in the restaurant contain alcohol. However, we make an alcohol free version with "mocktails" for our teetotaling guests.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is set alongside the Lost Spirits Distillery submarine tasting room.  As we are a distillery, it seemed only fitting to imagine several of the dishes would feature the signature flavors of the distillery's spirits.

Since rum and brandy both appear in the story of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, we use those spirits to infuse a complex kick to the menu.  â€‹
